Summer in
France
Summer in the mountains is simply beautiful. The scenery is chocolate box worthy, the cows wondering with Swiss bells, meadows of wildflowers, lakes and rivers, mountains and trails. The warmth of the sun, the clean fresh mountain air, its hard to see how your summer holidays could get any better.
The sporting opportunities are vast, from cycling and wild swimming to relaxing in the Wellness Centre.
Wellness, swimming & fitness
We are exceptionally lucky to be so close to such a wonderful spa facility. The indoor to outdoor pool, Oceana relaxing heated pool, the outdoor saunas and sensory showers plus much much more, are all perfect after a day in the mountains. Along with the gym, they also offer a selection of treatments which are too relaxing to pass up. The website isn’t the easiest to use, but don’t let that put you off, it is well worth a visit. Make sure you book treatments in advance.

It’s a short ride to the lifts, or a free bus shuttle will take you to and from the gondola in just a few minutes. The lift system remains open and adapted for bikes to make the access easy. Bike hire in Châtel is of a really high standard, but prebooking is essential for the decent kit.

It’s all about the climb. Whether you’re a ‘King’ or ‘Queen’ of the Mountain on Strava, or want to improve your road biking for yourself, you can’t beat the road riding around Châtel – even the pros agree. The Tour De France will complete the 10th of July Stage in the village. It’s a gruelling challenge for any level. The bike storage in the chalet is very secure, so if you are travelling with your own bike, we have excellent storage to look after it.

E-biking
E-biking’s ever increasing popularity is no surprise to us. It enables everyone to get out and enjoy the open tracks and mountain trails. There are lovely family friendly routes by the river as well as very well signposted routes that pass straight past Chalet Letach. The mountains can be a daunting place on your bike, but taking an E-bike makes it that much easier. It’s a wonderful thing and we love it!

Hiking
Nothing quite as simple as taking a walk, but in Châtel it’s truly magical. Take advantage of the lift system and find yourself strolling above the tree line in amongst the mountain tops of the Portes Du Solei region. For a more gentle walk you can take a stroll down the valley and follow the river as it meanders through the woods. It’s the most stunning area with panoramic views at every corner. The iconic clank of the big cow bells is a blissful accompaniment to any walk in the hills – a true alpine experience.
